Purpose
In the role of Registered Nurse for SpineCare and Pain Management you will work collaboratively with physicians and other clinic staff to provide professional nursing care to patients. You will provide patient and family health education and health assessments.
Primary Functions
- Working within scope of license, develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients. Communicate the plan of care to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions and other patient education. Document treatment in medical record appropriately.Using the nursing process, triage patient concerns via telephone and provide nursing advice. Receive phone calls relating to appointments, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refills and test results in accordance with clinic protocols and coordinate proper disposition of each.

- Using the nursing process, triage patient concerns via telephone and provide nursing advice. Receive phone calls relating to appointments, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refills and test results in accordance with clinic protocols and coordinate proper disposition of each.
- Obtain, review, verify and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate. Assist with managed care authorization and complete insurance and medical forms for patients or assist patients in completing the forms.
- Triage and educate patients undergoing procedures.
- Support the clinic for fluoro-guided procedures and more involved in-clinic procedures.
- Obtain medication prior authorizations.
- Help maintain patient flow and workflow. Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic. Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Assist with clinical trials according to protocol, if required.
