SalaryThe Health Center at Franklin Park, American Baptist Homes of the Midwest community, is looking to hire a Registered Dietitian to lead our team in providing excellent service to our valued residents.
This is an hourly PART TIME position of 20 hours per week
As the Registered Dietitian, we are looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our caring and dedicated team to make a significant difference in the lives of our residents. You will assess nutritional status, therapeutic diets, eternal nutrition, and patient condition, identify actual and potential problems and communicate resident status changes, needs or condition to the interdisciplinary team (IDT) plan of care; document nutrition assessment on Point Click Care, MDS documentation, and care plan on assigned residents; monitor resident weights and recommend interventions as needed; attend IDT care conferences; monitor resident meal service and communicate with kitchen staff to ensure dietary and clinical issues are in sync; and promote the mental, psychosocial, and spirit health of residents along the Community's continuum of care. What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or related field
- Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association License or certification as mandated by the state in which employed
- 2 years' experience in Long Term Care environment and geriatric nutrition preferred
- Demonstrate a high level of skill with interpersonal relationships and communications, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, decision-making skills, supportive, conflict resolution, time management, and organization skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build rapport and communicate tactfully and effectively with residents, family members, visitors and the public, to convey understanding of services offered
- Skill in reviewing the clinical work of others according to professional standards and practice guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, evaluate, coach, and develop staff
- Knowledge and ability to effectively apply adult education and learning principles
- Proficient computer skills
- Covid-19 vaccination is required to work in a healthcare setting
