Regional Supervisor, Safety & Security

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Affiliate Security
• Evaluates ongoing concerns and advises regional leadership team on Safety & Security trends unique to their
assigned region to include recommendations for remediation
• Under general supervision, leads the site Safety & Security programs for 1 region.
• Partners with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and is active in the community with other
reproductive health security professionals
• Supervises the site safety teams and ensures completion of on-site trainings and tracking for assigned region.
• Conducts awareness and training meetings for regional teams on topics related to Safety & Security trends
• In partnership with Volunteer Services, manages the affiliate’s Volunteer Patient Escort program
Physical Security
• Conducts on-site Safety & Security audits in their assigned region at least two times per year
• In partnership with the Regional Manager of Safety & Security, develops site specific action plans to address audit
deficiencies
• Evaluates compliance with all procedures, controls and documentation pertaining to Safety & Security
• Ensures that all physical security measures are in place and operational
• Responds to critical incidents and exercises independent judgement by providing guidance, support, and on-site
services when needed.
• Under general supervision, designs, schedules and ensures completion of annual drills designed to promote
awareness surrounding key Safety & Security incidents such as De-escalation, Active Shooter, Medical Emergency,
Shelter in place, Fire, etc.
Event Security & Special Protection
• Attends special events as on-site Safety & Security liaison responsible for following approved security plans.
• Monitors special events for outside influence and disruptive behaviors, liaising with local law enforcement as
needed.
Intelligence & Investigations
• Develops and maintains productive relationships with law enforcement, code enforcement, Planned Parenthood
Federation of America Global Safety & Security.
• Ensures incident report and investigation results are recorded and shared properly
• Conducts investigations in which independent judgement is used to determine course of action, due to violations of
security, including offenses by workforce members and non-workforce members.
• Conducts investigations in crimes and actions committed against PPMM and its workforce members.
• Conducts confidential investigations involving site Safety & Security and loss of company assets as requested
• Compile data, information, files for all external requests for PPMM property related to criminal investigations for
approval.
Qualifications
Ability to perform the duties described above. A typical means of acquiring those abilities would be:
• Operating knowledge of maintenance and installation of CCTV systems, alarm and access control systems
• Multi – Unit Safety & Security leadership
• Public speaking/presentations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Requirements
• Proven completion of college level courses in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Cyber Security, Psychology or other
similar training.
• Ability to effectively communicate in writing and compose detailed, cohesive and grammatically correct reports.
• Availability after regular hours to respond to Safety & Security issues
• Ability to travel – 20%
• Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and efficiently
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
