Job Summary

The Surgery/Operating Room Supervisor works with Department Manager and Director to ensure the planning, coordination and provision of nursing care to patients on specified units and shifts. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to nursing and ancillary personnel, commensurate with their scope of practice. Promotes the use of best practices in the delivery of patient care. Facilitates Lean Daily Management activities. Works collaboratively with leadership to promote professional nursing practice and behavior. Assists surgeons and anesthesiologist and coordinates flow of equipment, supplies and staff during a surgical procedure. Assures patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care.

Qualifications

Required

  • Training/Education/Experience/Certification: Minimum three years previous full time experience in the operating room.
  • CA RN license, BLS, Associates or Equivalent.
  • One year unit specific staff RN experience required.

Desired

Training/Education/Experience/Certification:

  • (1) PALS, (2) CNOR, Bachelors preferred.
  • Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
  • Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Pay Range: $46.73 - $76.37

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
