Job Description
The Metro Public Health Collaborative (MPHC) is seeking qualified candidates for two open positions of Regional Senior Public Health Specialist. Both positions will be managed by the Shared Services Division and Health Director of the Town of Brookline. One position will perform most work-related duties within one section of the MPHC (Towns of Arlington and Belmont), while the other position will work primarily within the other section (Town of Brookline and City of Newton).
Regional Sr Public Health Specialists perform inspectional and investigatory work pertaining to the enforcement of applicable health and safety codes, and protection of the environment and control of disease across the Metro Public Health Collaborative (MPHC) municipalities as-requested. The Regional Public Health Specialist will also provide support for program development, evaluation and education work pertaining to regional Public Health programs; other related work, as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or environmental health science, or a related field; two to five years of related experience in Public Health or environmental health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Eligibility to become a registered a Sanitarian in Massachusetts
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License, Class D
- Certified Food Safety Manager
- Certified Food Safety Professional (desired)
- Certified Soil Evaluator
- Septic System Inspector
- Licensed Special Use Pesticide Applicator
- Licensed Lead Determination Inspector
- Certified Pool Operator
