We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Director for our North Atlantic Region. This position will report to the Divisional Vice President of Sales, North Division.
Position Description
The Regional Sales Director is responsible for leading the sales strategy across the North Mid-Atlantic Region. This position directly leads a team of District Sales Managers, Market Sales Managers and Outside Sales Representative across the entire Region.
Working hand in hand with the Regional Vice President, the primary focus of the Regional Sales Director will be deploying strategies related to share gain and ensuring that we have the strongest and most professional sales team in the industry. As Regional Sales Director the right individual must display initiative, passion, a strong work ethic and the ability to lead, plan and manage change.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads and coaches a team of Sales Managers and Outside Sales Representatives to drive profitable growth and achievement of monthly and yearly sales requirements.
- Works with Division and Region leadership to develop sales budgets, pricing strategies and territory design.
- Recruits, develops, and retains sales teams capable of delivering sales and service objectives.
- Leverages business intelligence platforms to develop and automate the review of sales and gross margin metrics to highlight successful strategies needing expansion and identifying areas of opportunity.
- Review and optimize the activity levels of region sales team to ensure the proper frequency of customer touch points, coaching, and planning are taking place.
- Manages the coordination of sales efforts in a way that integrates the local markets with national accounts, call center and the Beacon's omni-channel offering in order to drive wallet share gain and new customer acquisition.
- Promotes a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of field sales leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures
- Distribution, building supply or multi-location retail experience preferred
- Proven experience leading and developing a sales team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong business acumen and the ability to add strategic value at the leadership table
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with people, customers, vendors, and employees
- Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity
- Personal integrity and exemplary ethical standards with a strong commitment to achieving a high level of personal and organizational success in business conduct and relations
- Ability to interpret and administer policies and procedures consistently and objectively
- Willing to travel up to 75%.
