Job Description:
This position contributes to the Company’s success by participating in the development of the sales strategy and implementation of market plans for assigned sales team region.
Candidates must reside in a city with a major airport hub along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.
The base compensation range for this role is $200,000 - $240,000.
Base Compensation is influenced by many factors including, but not limited to: time in the role, previous experience, skills, knowledge, performance, work requirements, internal equity, and business / economic conditions.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Leads and manages a regional team of Transplant Account Managers.
- Drives key strategic initiatives and leads its strategic execution within assigned region through effective cross-functional leadership and collaboration with team members, Sales Operations, Medical Affairs, Market Access and other key internal and external stakeholders; effectively executes sales strategies and marketing plans.
- Provides analysis, insight and direction on the Company’s priorities and goals to attain script targets for team members.
- Creates a high-performing organization through facilitation of performance management process through coaching, mentoring and providing career development pathway to team members; on-going field visits with team members to assess their performance as well as how customers’ needs are met.
- Plays a key role in identifying, recruiting and retaining talented, seasoned sales professionals.
- Manages regional expenses.
- Ensures compliance for self and team members of Company policies and procedures, as well as those of governmental entities.
- Makes recommendations to executive management regarding sales strategies, tactics and structure.
- Attends and participates in sales and marketing meetings; assists with training.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- BA/BS in business administration or related field; MBA a plus
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive sales management experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry; experience at community-based hospitals and surgery centers; transplant expertise a plus
- Superior specialty disease state knowledge
- Very strong team-building and motivating skills, with expertise in coaching, developing and attaining maximum performance from team
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Superior degree of effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation skills
- Extensive travel to oversee large geographic region
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe
- Travel Requirement: 75%
