YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
The Project Manager will be a conduit between BSN SPORTS and the VARSITY BRANDS’ IMPACT team, one of the highest-priority growth initiatives. You will work to enhance the relationship between new/existing accounts and BSN SPORTS in any construction facet that we can provide. This role will be very dynamic in the sense that you will oversee several large ticket projects at one time, which may also require travel into those destinations to do presentations and/or measurements on-site.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a thorough understanding of BSN SPORTS’ equipment capabilities, as well as, being able to identify any IMPACT opportunities that can be passed on to that division if they are not already involved in that transaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Travel to outside accounts to improve relationships and increase the BSN scope of work in the local market.
- Serve as equipment expert in all facets of BSN Sports.
- Locate and qualify Installers based on location and product type.
- Utilize Communication skills to tell BSN SPORTS story, present to large groups of Decision Makers, complete proposal/scope of work, and upsell/cross-sell BSN Sports products for all projects.
- Employ a creative mindset for onsite visits and visualize projects with prospective/current customers.
- Ability to measure on-site as well as interpret construction blueprints.
- Work directly with Territory Managers, Sales Pros, and IMPACT on sales opportunities as well as update CRM with progress reports for all projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant Experience: 2 years+ experience in sports equipment sales. Outside sales experience preferred. Experience in managing projects from start to finish including installation.
- Critical Thinking & Business Acumen: Superior analytical skills, strong judgment, curious around the right questions, can quickly understand where and how an organization creates value. Able to identify insights that lead organization to better understanding of opportunities or risks.
- Ability to Work High & Low – to think big picture, but also with the ability to roll up the sleeves to grasp the key details that drive sales.
- Influencing Skills: Able to work cross-functionally and manage / prioritize multiple tasks on tight deadlines. Able to educate BSN field sales and external customers on the scope and service of our offering. Ability to increase field sales engagement via influential leadership.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, including confidence and presence to engage effectively with decision-makers.
- Technical Skills: Must have experience in measuring sites using multiple tools.
- Physical Skill: Ability to pick up and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed and on demand. Expect up to 50 trips/year to company/account locations.
- Vendor/Installer Relationship: Ability to foster and maintain superior business relationships with current and new vendors/installers that are complimentary to both businesses.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Compensation: The standard pay range for this role is between $70,000-$80,000 plus the possibility of additional performance-based incentives.
