Position Specific Description
Employees in this position are responsible for leading and overseeing the transition from construction to operations of new grid-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. The Project Manager will manage a transition plan from pre-construction to operations, ensuring that the site is ready for low cost and reliable operations.
This position is responsible for projects in the eastern US, primarily in Florida. This position is based in Florida but can be flexible.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute simultaneous transition activities on multiple grid-scale solar PV and BESS projects with limited guidance
- Manage all aspects of the transition process, with effective prioritization, by tracking project status, action items, and deliverables while motivating stakeholders to execute process accountabilities
- Follow standardized processes while adapting to unique and varying project circumstances
- Travel to sites to inspect construction progress, identify potential concerns, and work with the construction team to resolve potential issues
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the continental United States
- Work with internal stakeholders and support teams to ensure project success and mitigate risk
- Procure equipment, tooling, signage, and other materials for site operations personnel
- Accurately and concisely report on project status and challenges, and periodically present to executive leadership
- Continuously apply a quality improvement mindset to identify, develop, and implement new processes, tools, and resources to improve organizational efficiency and project outcomes
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience in power generation or renewable energy technology, from construction through operations or any part thereof. Solar PV and BESS experience is desired but not required.
- Experience with implementing or auditing Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Six Sigma certification
- Strong project management capability
- Strong communication and professional skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite
