O'Neal Steel is currently seeking a Regional Operations Manager.
The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the daily management and continuous improvement of safety, quality, productivity, and overall effectiveness of warehouse operations at multiple districts within O’Neal Steel. Incumbents are expected to continuously seek opportunities to improve safety and service levels while maintaining standard operating practices set by the Director of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture by implementing standard work methods, policies and practices designed to achieve O’Neal Steel’s goal of zero accidents.
- Ensure Quality and Service Metrics to be in line with expected standards.
- Verify all aspects of Inventory Control are being managed to expectations.
- Manage operational expenses to achieve goals and profitability expectations.
- Ensure headcount is managed to include recruiting, retention and development.
- Maintain a hub and spoke distribution model that is fast accurate and dependable.
- Ensure district-to-district teamwork, continuity, consistency, and utilization of best practices.
- Create an atmosphere of continuous improvement in all facets of the warehouse operations.
- Identify and provide solutions for operational deficiencies.
- Monitor the utilization of resources across the region.
- Identify and propose warehouse-related capital expenditures.
- Ensure the proper care and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Ensure that all operations comply with company employee training and orientation requirements.
- Participate, as needed, with the development and enhancement of key customer relationships.
- Conduct performance and salary evaluations of direct reports.
- Up to 50% travel may be required
Required Skills
- Strong processing and manufacturing experience.
- Experience working in a steel distribution center, metal processing environment or other related fields.
- Five years of experience in industrial operations management
- Must be able to concentrate and maintain productivity in high-pressure situations; working knowledge of general machinery and fabrication practices.

Desired Skills
- Prior Experience: Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or continuous improvement concepts and techniques.
- Bachelors in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or related education preferred
