Position Title:  Regional Manager – Engineering Design (M3)

Position Summary

The Regional Manager - Engineering Design is a highly experienced leader of technical teams, who drives the formation, communication and implementation of strategies and business processes essential to designing viable solutions.

Role

  • Oversee a Regional team working across multiple geographies managing the layout and design of Fiber Optic Networks across Enterprise and Small Cell
  • Uses advanced engineering skills, knowledge, and experience to develop complex designs, address deployment challenges and achieve construction engineering goals
  • Work closely with the project delivery and support teams, ensuring that solutions proposed can be effectively deployed and supported, thereby ensuring sustained client satisfaction, and reduced post-deployment issues.
  • Develop measurement systems to monitor team performances and provide feedback for improvement and staffing decisions.
  • Understand the financial performance indicators of the company and how the team impacts those metrics, act to positively influence and advance those impacts.
  • Establish and maintain cross-functional partnerships and networks, proactively communicate stated goals and progression to ensure alignment of efforts towards common objectives.
  • Responsible for staffing decisions, including, but not limited to, hiring, goal-setting, performance reviews, termination, rewards determinations, training/development, and scheduling; ensure those decisions are objective and aligned in approach with peers in the organization.
  • Evaluate production resource capabilities, establish proper financial output targets, and influence positive outcomes accordingly.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of experience in leading technical teams specifically focused on engineering design and analysis and business process development, implementation and execution; including development of standards, procedures, and tools
  • Experience developing and rolling out complex processes & standards documentation and driving continuous improvement
  • Experience building effective teams and leading teams through change
  • Experience interfacing with external customers and driving organic growth

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency using mapping and fiber management software i.e. GIS, OSPi, QGIS, Google Earth
  • Proficiency using Microsoft WORD & Excel, Visio and CAD software
  • Demonstrated leadership capability specifically related to operation of an engineering department
  • Proven ability to communicate to all levels of the organization; providing clear direction to subordinates for routine execution and influencing peers and superiors to affect positive change or outcomes on important technical and business issues
  • Demonstrated ability in achieving high customer satisfaction results through others, including ability to lead multiple projects in a deadline-intensive environment
  • Proven ability to identify and hire specific resource types to staff specialized teams
  • Mastery of the engineering problem solving process including technical and trade off analyses, troubleshooting techniques, and failure investigations

Reports to:  Regional Director, Engineering

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable):  Manager Fiber Engineering, Supv Fiber Engineering

Compensation Information: For New York, Colorado, California and Washington residents the hiring range offered for this position is $129,360 - $175,000 annually. In addition to salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 30% of annual salary and RSU eligible. Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 18 days of paid time off each year and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office on Monday through Thursday.  On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.  There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel.
