Responsible to ensure governmental regulatory compliance in all areas related to safety and provide support to construction activities by conducting safety meetings, work site and equipment inspections, accident investigations, employee injury assessment with follow-up, and coordination of employee training programs. Acts as liaison with community emergency response agencies.
Position Responsibilities and Job Tasking:
- Conduct comprehensive on-site safety and risk assessments to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company HSE policies and procedures, including but not limited to daily location inspections, vehicle inspections, weekly safety meetings, etc.
- Traveling within the Permian Basin operational job scope with potential overnight stays. Accommodations will be provided for overnight stays.
- Provide HSE support, coaching, and training at all levels, enhancing company’s safety culture for all employees.
- Provide detailed reporting of inspections, observations, and incident investigations. This will include detailed root cause analysis with presentation to corporate and client personnel.
- Respond to and investigate incidents involving company personnel, equipment, or third-party involved.
- Ensure compliance with a system for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking, and reporting HSE performance data (Incident report findings, audit action items, etc.)
- Identify and interpret regulatory standards that impact operational exposures; coordinate with HSE leadership to provide recommendations and guidance to operations management.
- Facilitate employee drug/alcohol testing requirements as directed by company policy.
- Aid with functional work assessments, occupation injuries, Worker’s Compensation claims, and any other related duties as required.
- On-Call weekends twice a month in accordance with other personnel.
Qualifications of Employment:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
- Instructor certifications pertaining to Safeland, IADC United Basin, etc.
- Working knowledge of safety requirements, including OSHA and DOT regulations, preferred. Including OSHA Certification and training.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Strong self-motivated work ethic, eager to learn, keen to detail, and team oriented.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. of materials Periodically including fire extinguishers, self contained breathing apparatus, boxes, television/VCR, file cabinets, desks, and if necessary assist in the movement of incapacitated accident victims.
- Seeing and observing during varying degrees of light while making visual assessments at job sites.
- Listening to conversations and talking with others in person or telephone.
- Traveling by vehicle or on foot around job sites or other locations.
