KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Vision, values, ethos and guiding principles:
- Ensure the ethos, values and guiding principles of OneSchool Global are maintained through all aspects of providing students with additional learning, social-emotional, health and physical needs.
- Strategically implement the Learning to Learn Framework as the founding principle of all curriculum design.
Student Mental Health:
- Lead the regional strategy for positive mental health and wellbeing. Including strategy for training of campus leaders, parents, students and staff.
- Ensure a register is maintained at each campus, of Students for whom Mental Health and Wellbeing is a risk.
- Ensure a robust regional strategy for risk assessment and risk reduction for those students with Mental Health and Wellbeing needs. Including the critical care plan.
Additional learning and health needs:
- Ensure a program is in place to review and allow access to OneSchool for students of OneSchool age who are currently educated with external specialists.
- Maintain up-to-date Student Support Policies, aligned with the vision, values and strategy of OneSchool Global, and with all statutory requirements of the North American Region including the Policy for Student Health needs, Mental Health and Student Support.
- Ensure an accurate register is kept at each Campus, for students with additional learning and health needs.
- Lead the team of Student Support Coordinators in meeting their strategic aims to implement exemplary Student Support aligned with regulatory requirements and the OSGNA Student Support Policy.
- Ensure the review of all requests for external assessment, ensuring committee-led approval, due diligence and record keeping for all requests. Ensure approval committees are made up of at least one Regional Executive Committee member and one Regional professional aside from the Director of Student Support.
- Working as a close partner with the Regional Principal (RP) team, Directors of Study and Heads of Department, ensure the curriculum and tools for learning are fit for purpose – with the outcome of creating a personalized, accessible and differentiated curriculum for students of all abilities and needs.
- With the Regional Principal team, Regional Director of Education and Directors of Study, to strategically lead on the design of campus-led induction for new staff – in every aspect of our School and pedagogy.
- Strategically lead on interaction between school and home for students with additional learning needs, with emphasis on communicating plans, solutions, adjustments and student progress in a timely and supportive way.
- Ensure communication with parents includes them in all consultation and decision making about specialist and additional provision for their child(ren).
- Strategically maintain standardised procedures for identification, intervention, tracking and review for students with Additional Needs (learning, health, mental health, physical).
- Lead a program of referral and external assessment for students with suspected additional needs. Working through regional and Campus leads and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Direct a consistent and immediate process for Campus Principals and Student Support Leads to translate recommendations from external specialist reports into a precise plan at the Campus, regularly monitored and reviewed.
- Implement procedures for setting, tracking and reviewing targets and outcomes for students with additional needs, including meeting all regional statutory guidance.
- Ensure immediate intervention in cases of parental complaint or concern about the quality of Students support provision. Supporting Campuses to learn immediate lessons from challenges/feedback and to strengthen provision.
- Develop and deliver CA training and frequent updates for the CA Teams. Linked to Positive Mental Health, Wellbeing and Student Support policy and procedures.
- Create and deliver outstanding professional development opportunities for teachers and teacher aides via the Teacher Academy. To focus on Learning to Learn pedagogy and routines for students with additional support, Mental Health and Wellbeing needs.
- Develop leaders and teachers’ skills of supporting students with additional needs through strategic campus reviews, observation and feedback training for leaders, teachers and teacher aides.
- When asked by the RP team, intervene in Campuses that require added support, this may include development of staff and leadership.
- Provide reports to the Regional Management Team timely and as required.
- To join Global Student Support Committee meetings, to ensure alignment of regional approaches with Global Strategy.
Key performance metrics:
- To deliver and report on agreed Key Performance Indicators for Student Support.
Communication with stakeholders:
- Develop and maintain links across all OSG stakeholders including Regional Management Team, Campus Administrators, Campus leadership teams, educators and parents.
- Identify and implement new opportunities to positively promote the work of OneSchool Global and the Student Support approach beyond the organization.
- Contribute the regular updates for circulation to stakeholders
- Work in positive, constructive collaboration with all stakeholders appropriately managing conflict as necessary.
- Actively invite dialogue and the sharing of information when appropriate .
Sustainability:
- Cost, plan and report on expenditure as a budget holder in accordance with the Finance Policy
- Manage the Student Support budget and assets in association with the Regional Financial Controller.
- Manage the administration and operation of the Student Support team, producing reports as required by Regional and Global Management Teams.
- Ensure resources are managed to obtain best value and to exercise prudent resource allocation.
Policy and procedure:
- Support, review and actively implement agreed OneSchool Global policies, procedures and guidelines as appropriate to the role.
General duties:
- Perform such other duties as may be requested from time to time, commensurate with the role.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher.
- Degree in Special Education or equivalent qualification
- Understanding of Special Education law in OSGNA regions
- A successful teacher – able to understand the challenges of the classroom.
- Experience in a principal or senior educational leadership position.
- Demonstrated experience of strategic leadership of Special Education team or equivalent.
- Experience of leading and delivering strategic improvement of Student outcomes.
- Experience of analysing and using student performance data to improve standards.
- Experience facilitating strategic and school improvement planning processes.
- Experience leading change.
- Managing the administration of up-to-date records.
Desirable
- Higher level qualification in Educational Leadership and Management
- Experience leading student support strategy across multiple, geographically distributed sites.

POSITION PURPOSE
As a fully inclusive school, the Regional Director of Student Support is a crucial senior role, ensuring equality of opportunity for all learners in OneSchool Global, North America with additional learning, health and support needs. Directing the work of the Student Support team, District and Campus Principals, the Regional Director of Student Support strategically leads the assessment and identification of Students’ needs; planning of tailored provision; the curriculum; Individualised Learning Plans; external assessment of needs and management of transition points. Partnering with the Teacher Academy, the Director of Student Support also ensures all staff are trained, equipped and assured to deliver outstanding provision for students with all levels of need. Leading our approach to partnership with parents is a core aspect of this role; to maintain the highest level of confidence and communication between home and school.
