These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the tracking, coordination and communication of patient referrals
- Assembles information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs.
- Contacts insurance companies to ensure verification of benefits and prior authorization approval requirements are met as needed.
- Reviews details and expectation of referral with the potential patient.
- Assists patients in problem solving potential issues related financial or social barriers (e.g., request interpreters as appropriate, transportation services, etc.)
- Ensures that referrals are addressed in a timely manner.• Reminds patients of scheduled appointment.
- Communication with referral sources to ensure patient information/ registration is complete.
- Communicates patient updates between program and referring source
- Greets all patients and families in an enthusiastic, sensitive and supportive manner, while understanding the importance of service excellence.
- Organizes and sends out visit notes and results to third party referral sources.
- Answers incoming phone calls as necessary and provides information to caller according to departmental guidelines.
- Enthusiastically answers general patient and guest inquiries.
- Provide support and/or relief coverage as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
