Job description

Duties

  • As Head Lifeguard, oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluate pool operation efficiencies.
  • Assist manager by insuring adequate staffing of operations with personnel and the safety of users. Directs lifeguards as required in the performance of their duties.
  • Performs checks and makes adjustments in water quality levels and ensures that the pump rooms are maintained and operational.
  • As lifeguard, responsible for the life guarding of guests at the pools. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Coordinates and conducts aquatic swimming and water survival training.
  • Enforces and carries out policy and requirements. Issues towels and checks identification as required. Responsible for the safeguarding and protection of funds, property and personnel.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Continuous exposure to sun and prolonged periods of high temperature and humidity.
  • Satisfactorily completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 which may also require to compete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Must have a current health assessment which documents good physical health, freedom from communicable disease IAW current Army.
  • In case of exposure to infectious disease, incumbent is required to obtain the Hepatitis B vaccination series within a 24-hour period.
  • Incumbent is required to follow environmental safeguards and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Availability to work weekends, weekdays, holidays and night hours.
  • Available to work the full Summer Season from May 30th to September 5th, 2024.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a medical examination.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
A Head Lifeguard must hold a current lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Within 6 months of hire must obtain a pool operator's license.
  • A Lifeguard Instructor certificate is preferred. Must have 12 months of experience in pool operation as a lifeguard with experience in swimming instruction and pool maintenance.
  • Must be able to use sound judgment, accomplish tasks within established time frames, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
  • Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports.

This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits however, there is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligation and work scheduling requirements).
