Meet Our TeamAs a key contributor to our team, you will work closely with our clients at one of our treatment facilities. You will work alongside other Recovery Support Professional and peers, and will report to the Recovery Support Supervisor (or other deemed supervisor) at your respective facility.
Who You AreYou are a Recovery Support Professional who is passionate about helping individuals suffering from substance use disorders and/or mental health illnesses. You are someone who realize that the disease of addiction doesn't discriminate, and can therefore work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. You have the ability to help those in treatment with respect and dignity, and by providing quality services. You are trust worthy, empathetic, adaptable, compassionate and a great listener. You are a problem solver and is not afraid to have difficult conversations. You have the ability to positively influence the vulnerable. You have good interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work successfully with people at all levels.
You want to join an experienced, supportive team who is also passionate about helping individuals suffering from addiction and mental illness, achieve a better quality of life, sobriety, and abstinence from substance use/abuse. You understand that while the industry is demanding, your role is significant to helping our clients reach and sustain sobriety, thus you are willing to work at least 1 evening shift per week, and a rotating weekend shift as needed (if working in a residential environment). Responsibilities
As this is a program that works in tandem with the department of corrections, you will be required to complete a DOC clearance as well as training.
Since this program works in tandem with the department of corrections. As such, you will have (but not be limited to) the following responsibilities:
  • Routine rounds throughout the unit, ensuring that all residents are accounted for.
  • Regular urine drug and alcohol testing
  • Pat-down searches of residents as needed
  • Coordinating chore lists, breaks, and other activities and program scheduling.
  • Screen client's personal belongings upon entry to the facility, monitor client movement in and out of the facility and account for their whereabouts. Maintain and monitor client sign-out book.
  • Facilitate approved client request slips including phone calls and visitation.
  • Conduct and document room searches and perform random searches of clients as directed by program supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate daily census, know where clients are on the floor, and report infractions and incidents to appropriate staff.
  • Supervise, where appropriate, clients taking their medications.
  • Conduct client orientation sessions, seminars, and morning meetings, as directed.
  • Screen and process new admissions. Take head counts during hourly runs. Document hourly runs and client movement in communication log.
  • Perform regular room checks to make sure clients are on floors or in their rooms per program schedule.
  • Follow protocol for reporting unauthorized absences.
  • Monitor urinalysis/drug screening and breathalyzers as instructed by supervisor on duty.
  • Monitor daily program activities in addition to meals and medication line.
  • Tour the facility at regular intervals to check building security and ensure there are no fire or safety hazards in accordance with program and regulatory policies.
  • Conduct fire drills and safety checks including safety and security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers, first aid kits and Narcan availability.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and complete weekly vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and safety through the regular inspection of sanitation procedures, including pest control, the storage of supplies and clients' belongings, and submission of work orders for needed repairs.
  • Ensure property maintenance relative to inclement weather, including shoveling, salting, and de-icing walkways and vehicles, as directed.
  • Complete written reports, documentation, and electronic incident reports as required.
  • Aid in therapeutic community activities, as needed.

As this facility works with individuals that have been through the department of corrections female program, we maintain a preference for female only staff. Gaudenzia does have additional programs in the same area that are available for male applicants.
Qualifications
Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED
Substitutions: No substitutions for education and training. Successful completion of residential treatment program
may be substituted for residential services experience (one month treatment = one month service)
• Ability to interact effectively with clients and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems.
• Basic knowledge of substance use and mental health disorders.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relations with staff and other agencies, and the public.
• Ability to successfully work with others from various cultures and backgrounds.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.
• Ability to work various shifts.
• Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Outlook for email and Word and Excel.
