Location: Grand Forks, MN
Shift: 2nd shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm (EOW)
Shift: 3rd shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am (EOW)
Pay: $19/hr. plus differential pay of up to $1.50/hr.
Duties and responsibilities
The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Assist with daily activities of clients
- Lead and facilitate day-to-day activities, such as transportation
- Provide training for new staff
- To transport clients for admission, discharge, medical appointment, etc.
- To provide orientation to new clients and check in personal property.
- Will provide for the safety of the clients by monitoring their whereabouts by making rounds including all areas described in the Program Abuse Prevention Plan and overnight bed checks.
- Complete DAANES reports as directed.
- Interact with clients whenever possible.
- Attend shift change report meetings.
- Chart interaction with clients and observations made in client's record.
- Attend staff meetings and in-service training.
- Distribute medications and other duties as directed and as assigned by the Nurse Manager.
- Paraprofessionals may not admit, transfer, or discharge clients. They may be directed to follow through with the process of implementation of the above by the director or designee.
- To include aiding the RS supervisor with daily tasks.

Qualifications Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Have the ability to work independently.
- Medication Certification - obtain this within four weeks of the title change.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving history within the past 5 years.
- The ability to drive a vehicle continuously for up to three hours.
- The ability to lift and move objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Must know and understand all rules, regulations, and requirements of the assigned program.
- CPR and first aid certified.
- On-going training on of cultural awareness and demonstration of sensitivity to various cultural norms and values.
- Computer literate.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Ability
- Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse cultures, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.
- Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities
- Computer skills to draft emails, memos, and reporting
