Key Responsibilities:
Peer Support:
- Share your personal recovery journey to inspire and motivate patients.
- Build trusting relationships with patients, offering empathy, understanding, and hope.
- Assist patients in setting recovery goals and developing coping strategies.
- Provide insight into the recovery process, including challenges and milestones.
- Connect patients with community resources, support groups, and ongoing treatment options.
- Facilitate introductions to recovery communities and networks.
- Work closely with clinical staff to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Participate in treatment planning and review meetings.
- Advocate for patients' needs and rights within the facility.
- Educate patients and staff about the recovery process and peer support principles.
- Lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder (minimum two years in recovery preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in peer support or related field is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic and non-judgmental approach.
- Basic knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery principles.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.

- Peer Recovery Support certification (CPRS) (Preferred)
