HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Certified Peer Specialist is an active member of an evidenced-based clinical team, providing medically necessary treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified recipients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
- Functions as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills
- Works with clients and other treatment staff to develop a treatment/recovery plan based on each client's identified goals
- Assists clients in developing empowerment skills and combating through self-advocacy
- Serves as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and peer support for clients in outpatient and inpatient settings
