Thrive Pediatric Therapy is a private practice servicing children and their families throughout southern New Jersey. We provide skilled speech and language therapy services to children of all ages. We are looking for a full-time front desk Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator to join our team! The hours will be approximately 7:30am until 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and 8:30am until 6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The office is closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
As our Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the primary point of contact for our families, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing front desk responsibilities. Your role will involve managing new patient intakes, scheduling appointments, addressing patient inquiries, collecting payments, and overseeing administrative tasks to support the seamless operation of Thrive Pediatric Therapy.
In addition to these tasks, your role will also involve frequent communication with commercial insurance companies, which will include verifying patient benefits, obtaining prior authorizations and referrals, following up on denied claims, and other related tasks.
Responsibilities:
· Extend a warm welcome to pediatric patients and their families, fostering a professional and compassionate reception atmosphere with exceptional customer service
· Efficiently schedule patient evaluations and therapy sessions, optimizing the calendar based on availability
· Provide prompt and professional responses to patient inquiries, demonstrating compassionate customer service over phone calls and emails
· Coordinate administrative tasks, including patient check-in/out, collecting payments, and maintaining organized records
· Facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team to support patient care coordination
· Maintain a tidy front desk area, ensuring a comfortable and inviting environment
· Efficiently manage the opening office procedures for Thrive Pediatric Therapy
· Communicate with various commercial insurance companies to verify patient benefits, obtaining prior authorizations and referrals, following up on denied claims, and other related tasks
Requirements
· Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
· Must have previous relevant work experience in a front desk or patient care coordination role within a healthcare setting, preferably in a pediatric environment.
· Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
· Detail-oriented with effective prioritization skills
· Consistently display a positive and proactive attitude
· Proficient in computer skills, including experience with electronic medical record systems and patient scheduling software
· Experience in communicating with health insurance companies is required
· Experience navigating healthcare provider portals such as Availity and Navinet is preferred
Compensation
· This role is a full-time, W-2 position
· Compensation is provided at an hourly rate and based on experience
