This position is available at the Cleveland County Regional Juvenile Detention Center, a 26 bed facility that houses male and female residents who are being held in a maximum security short-term holding facility.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the preparation, seasoning and cooking of two hot meals for 26 juvenile detainees; lunch and dinner, daily.
- Maintain record of current food stock and supplies and keep records of accounts.
- Complete orders from steam tables, placing food on plates and serving juveniles at tables or counters.
- Work with dietitian to maintain the minimum nutritional requirements for juveniles.
- Perform simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, carving meats, brewing coffee while also creating meals that have a balance of flavor, color and texture that add to meal enjoyment.
- Plan work so items served together are finished at the same time.
- Must be able to note substitutions and equate their nutritional value for the food being replaced.
- Maintain a menu that is kept on file, rotated periodically and takes into consideration average time of a juvenile is detained.
- Clean food preparation equipment, work areas and counters or tables.
- Stock supplies on shelves and date mark as instructed.
- Maintain compliance with the Oklahoma Department of Health.
- Performs additional duties as needed
The hours for this position are Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You must have a current food handler's permit. If you do not have one, it can be obtained at the Cleveland County Health Department. The cost is $5. You must pass a criminal history background check and be over 21 years of age.
