Summary
We believe that the receptionist is a key role in our organization because they are the first point of contact between the community and our organization. Therefore, the duties and responsibilities for the Receptionist include administration duties, including greeting guests, answering phones, handling company inquiries, and sorting and distributing mail with a positive attitude.
Essential Job Functions
- Greet visitors warmly and make sure they are comfortable.
- Ensures front desk is covered at all times during business hours.
- Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments.
- Ensures the reception area is kept tidy.
- Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.
- Assists other departments with various administrative tasks as needed.
- Performs basic filing and clerical duties.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 1-3 years related experience in a fast-paced environment and high school diploma.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Professional appearance and friendly, polite demeanor.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at various times.
