Fall River Health Services is looking for a clinic receptionist who works collaboratively with clinic staff to enhance the overall day-to-day operations by managing patient flow in and out of the clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients professionally both in person and on the phone.
- Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues.
- Optimizing provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling
- Answers incoming phone calls, routing phone call encounters via Electronic Medical record to appropriate work group pool inbasket.
- Receives and documents prescription refill requests, routine request to appropriate workgroup pool inbasket.
- Provides education to new patients via telephone and mailing of New Patient Packets
- Schedules all clinic patients' appointments including coordination with outreach sites and scheduling of outreach site patients.
- Verifies patient demographics and insurance coverage.
- Registers and checks in patients as needed.
- Assists ill or distraught patients as necessary. Assist in contacting local transport bus or family members when necessary for transportation.
- Confirms Medicaid eligibility and Medicare Managed Home.
- Schedules nurse visit in accordance with nurse visit protocols.
- Manages drug representative appointments with clinic.
- Answers and directs phone calls.
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Opens and sorts office mail. Delivers outgoing mail to the post office at end of day.
- Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed.
Requirements

Education/Experience/Licensure:
- Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
- High school graduate or equivalent required
