GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Receptionist greets and assists patients and/or visitors in person or via telephone in a professional and courteous manner. Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Answers all incoming calls and forwards callers to proper party; obtains and relays accurate messages in a timely fashion.
3. *Uses interpersonal skills to present a professional image and communicate effectively in person and by telephone or email.
4. *Performs a variety of clerical tasks which may include typing, alphabetizing, filing, photocopying or stuffing envelopes.
5. Attends hospital workshops, seminars, meetings, and in-services to promote continuous self-development.
6. *Communicates and cooperates with all levels of personnel, medical staff, auxiliary and ancillary departments.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalency required. Knowledge of medical terminology desired or ability to complete Bryan Health course within six (6) months of hire preferred. Prior reception experience in a hospital setting preferred.
