The Port of Stockton internship program provides college students with "real world" professional work experience and the opportunity to gain marketable skills and insight into their potential career choices. The program is designed to provide students with exposure to jobs that fall within their scope of learning while gaining insight into specific business operations of the Port of Stockton to encourage pursuit of careers in maritime/port-related fields. The internship position is within the Real Estate/Property Management Department.
- Job shadows Port Real Estate/Properties team to gain valuable experience in the field of commercial/industrial real estate
- Provides administrative support by preparing PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and other pertinent documents
- Assists with special projects
- Organizes, scans, and files documents and exhibits
- Excellent computer skills using MS Office and the internet
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to draft, edit, proof and interpret documents
- Professional dress and demeanor
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Ability to focus and accomplish given tasks with moderate supervision
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Port staff, tenants and others
- Working knowledge of real estate terminology and accounting functions desirable.
Requirements:
- Must meet the qualifications as required by the Port of Stockton Internship Program Policy

- Must provide three (3) professional references who are not related to you, whom you have known at least two (2) years and who have knowledge of your work performance
- Successful completion of background and reference check
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
Work Environment:
- Approximately June through August
- Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Tuesday - Friday; Part-time (less than 30 hours per week)
- Required attendance at intern program events
