Base salary $80,000-$90,000 base + Bonus/Commission!
The accountant will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and records of Real Estate properties. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the entire accounting process for assigned Real Estate properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Real Estate properties.
- Provide financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and variances.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of property budgets.
- Collaborate with property management teams to gather relevant financial data for forecasting purposes.
- Process invoices, ensure proper coding, and manage accounts payable.
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including rent collection and tenant billing.
- Review and analyze property-related expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure accurate coding and classification of expenses in the general ledger.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with property managers, owners, and other stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide information.
- Communicate financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial team members.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant in the Real Estate industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software-Yardi preferred
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
