Job Description
Major manufacturer is seeking a Molding Technician for a long term contract role with a good chance for perm. Role to be located near Detroit, Michigan.
Job Purpose:
Primary purpose would be to support new developments in Injection Molding of automotive plastic parts in an Application Technology (AT), Technology and Innovation environment. Additionally, the job is to resolve customer concerns through molding with a variety of resin materials as part of an expanding Auto Center of Excellence.
Description:
Executes part molding by determining operational settings and process parameters.
Runs a variety of new and existing plastic resin types.
Performs advanced machine troubleshooting and maintenance.
Follows LOTO, corporate safety systems, and regulatory EHSS requirements.
Provides accurate and timely technical results and summaries.
Communicates verbally, in writing, and virtually.
Utilizes problem solving and analytical skills to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Cross-trains to operate secondary operations equipment as required.
Requirements:
2-5 years Injection Molding processing experience (education/experience combination will be considered) to include:
Automated molding using state of the art machines and program controls (Engel experience a plus)
Robotic part retrieval capability
Capable of independent planning and execution of projects and assignments
Ability to handle multiple tasks and functions
Knowledge of safety procedures and demonstrated ability to follow them
Molding Trial shop experience preferred
Communication and organization skills to include:
Proficient use of personal computers with Microsoft Office tools
Strong Interpersonal and Teamwork skills
Strong Problem Solving and Mechanical Troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated organizational, planning and record keeping skills
Curious and excited to learn new molding technology.
