SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing QA activities that ensure consistent food safety and product quality of all Primal Pet Foods products. Inspects products to ensure high quality and compliance with company standards and procedures. Must be able to rotate between all production lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with GMPs, HACCP and other Food Safety, quality, and security guidelines and strictly adhere to all Primal Pet Foods specifications.
- Strictly adhering to company Health and Safety guidelines.
- Conduct Pre-Op inspections, including ATP swabbing, Production rooms and equipment, and document findings.
- Conduct hourly GMP and QA inspections, including WIP, room temperature, production floor, document findings, finished product packaging (coding, weights, quality standards), verify staged ingredients, and verification checks of foreign material detection devices (metal Detection and X-ray).
- Verify all paperwork on the production floor from all departments is being completed correctly and at the specified times.
- Collect samples from operating lines for finished product testing.
- Properly and accurately label daily samples, complete daily sample submission forms, and communicate to manage the daily sample lists.
- Calibration accuracy checks of monitoring and measuring devices (Thermometers, Scales)
- Conduct
- Conduct Facility GMP, Glass, and Brittle plastic inspections, and document results.
- Conduct physical release of the finished product, identify and properly physically put the product on hold.
- Review and verify the accuracy of sanitation documentation.
- Authenticate all shipping and receiving loads to ensure the proper product is being transported or received including temperature, condition, pests, shelf life, and completion the proper paperwork as needed.
- Responds appropriately to Food Safety & Quality incidents and investigates and completes incident reports.
- Be a proactive participant in identifying potential issues in all phases of operations, including conformance to GMP standards.
- Display professional verbal & interpersonal communication skills; ability to work well in group situations; ability to deal effectively with conflict in a mature & consistent manner.
- Develop and maintain lines of communication between FSQA, Production, Warehouse, and Management to ensure that all are kept informed of issues found, corrective actions taken, and any changes that have taken place.
- Hands-on involvement in all Food Safety/Quality conformance concerns / non-conformances.
PAY RATE
- $18.50- $20.00

- Good writing, mathematics, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Computer literate in spreadsheet, word and database applications.
- Intermediate computer literacy and experience in Excel and Word
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school equivalency required.
- Experience in food production, HACCP, FSMA, GFSI standards (SQF) preferred.
- 1 year experience as a Quality technician; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
