Quality Technician - 3rd Shift at our location in Portage, Michigan - South Campus
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Quality Technician will be responsible for performing activities in and for the quality department.
- Problem Solving / Analytical Thinking
- Analyze statistical data or other data to solve problems, verify corrective actions and improvement projects
- Correct, submit, and publish accurate quality documentation
- Lead problem solving activities with employees in the manufacturing areas
- Quality System Compliance
- Performs quality audits (dock, layered, and others as applicable) to verify conformance to MANN+HUMMEL quality system.
- Interpretation of and follow through on Inspection Instructions and other quality related documents to verify that process and product requirements are being met.
- Performs visual and physical inspections and tests that are required
- Maintains Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and activities
- Product Knowledge
- Interpret customer requirements and expectations
- Decide about product disposition when required – release, use as is, scrap, place on HOLD
- Conduct training of quality requirements and activities to employees
- Communicate/explain the use and intent of the product to other employees
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must be willing to learn and adhere to the current Quality System requirements.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years quality inspection and plastics manufacturing experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
