Purpose:

• Verify prototype and production part assemblies, fixtures, gauges, and material characteristics to part prints and specifications using various measuring instruments and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support prototype machining and assembly to verify parts/ assemblies are produced within design specifications.
• Support receiving inspection, prototype, and production departments with destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
• Perform annual component and assembly layouts per customer requirements.
• Perform any and all layouts required for product analysis from product test lab, supplier, and customer concerns.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas to create measuring processes to accurately verify conformance.
• Evaluate data and prepare reports, graphs, and charts as needed to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Verify accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges, and electrical and functional gauges.
• Compute unspecified dimensions and other data.
• Other duties and responsibilities within the technician's capabilities may be assigned as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education/ Knowledge

• High School diploma or GED, some college or associates preferred
• Must demonstrate ability to fully operate, setup, and/or program key measuring equipment
• Must demonstrate ability to fixture parts for manual or CMM measurement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

• Do you have experience using gages such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc?
• Have you been involved in handling non-conforming material as part of your work experience?
• Do you possess experience in quarantining products and sorting within a manufacturing environment?
• Can you demonstrate proven problem-solving skills, including familiarity with methods such as 8Ds, 5-Whys, and Root Cause Analysis?
• Have you worked on an automotive plant floor in a manufacturing setting for at least 2 years?
