Quality Program Manager
Description -
The Advanced Compute and Solutions (ACS) organization is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual with proven results leading complex programs and quality improvement initiatives. This person will be pivotal to driving and achieving measurable quality improvements for Retail Industry Solutions (RIS) products. The candidate will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex Retail Industry Solutions (RIS) field product issues as it relates to Early Warning and Sustaining customer experiences. You will utilize various quality tools to monitor and react to trending data and drive Closed Loop Corrective and Preventive Actions. You will be in the role as a team or project leader providing direction to global cross-functional teams for resolving major product quality issues. This role requires significant independent judgment to identify and engage appropriate HP and Partner engineering resources to drive solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Drive quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of products or solutions for the RIS business unit.
- Analyzes and reviews new product introduction (NPI) call and customer escalations data for potential quality issues; provides tangible feedback by engaging and program managing with appropriate teams to improve product quality and minimize risk of failures.
- Reviews reports, test data, and process results for assigned components and subsystems to identify trends and issues, drives root-cause analysis, and leads recommendations for resolution
- Communicates product and process issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management, internal, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to products or processes to reduce defects and improve quality.
- Program manage the RIS Factory White Glove Program assuring factory quality for high profile RIS customers.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Lean Six Sigma or other Quality certification preferred.
- Typically 6-10 years experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate or higher MS Excel user.
- Strong analytical, statistics, and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strives for excellence in every task.
- Functional operation of typical AiO, tablet, and desktop PCs with applied knowledge to Retail Point of Sales hardware and peripherals.
- Use of empirical and root- cause analysis and modeling to capture customer product issue experience for replication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
- Ability to effectively communicate quality plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options with HP engineering and partners.
- Confident and comfortable with creating reports and presentations to upper management.
- Excellent track record of leading and influencing teams across multiple different business units.
- Proven experience leading product and/or process quality improvements
