Quality Manager - Sheet Metal Fabrication
Our client is an establised Manufacturer of sheet metal fabrication, located in the greater Fort Lauderdale area. This company is very established, they manufacture very high quality products using state of the art CNC machinery in a Machine Shop environment. They are very stable, growing and looking for a Quality Manager to lead their team of Inpectors and Engineers. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of quality and excellence for which our company is known. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing various aspects of quality management, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, maintain, and enhance quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
- Act as a Lead Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor, conducting internal audits and managing external audit processes.
- Conduct Management Reviews and oversee Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions.
- Manage Return Material Authorization (RMA) and non-conforming product processes.
- Review contracts and understand purchase order requirements to ensure compliance.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of calibration processes.
- Perform First Article Inspections and provide expertise in inspection methodologies.
- Conduct mechanical inspections using tools such as Height Gages, Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints, understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Maintain knowledge of manufacturing specifications and standards related to materials, welding, paint, and plating.
- Understand and oversee manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and plating (Iridite, Zinc, Anodize).
- Engage in effective problem-solving techniques.
- Manage and lead a team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Quality Management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and application of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
- Certification as a Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control techniques.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting manufacturing specifications.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex projects.
- Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
