Job Description
The QC Manager’s role is to perform verification of in process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications, perform visual weld inspections, and document control.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support all Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed.
- Ability to lead, direct, delegate, facility quality team objectives and outcomes.
- Establish Standard Operating Procedures and continuous improvements.
- Ability to lead, direct and delegate the quality team.
- Mentor, develop, cross-train quality team with internal/external materials, systems, and methodologies.
- Establish Standard Operating Procedures and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure Non-Conforming Reports are properly administered and archived.
- Ensure Corrective Actions are produced, applied and archived.
- Participate in drawing reviews.
- Ensure proper testing is completed at facility location, RT, MT, UT, PAUT as required.
- Verifies conformance of product to shop drawings and contract requirements through:
- Dimensional checks with tape measure to drawings
- Visual inspection of welds (informational)
- Generates inspection records or provides input to QA Manager for records as required.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ASME, API codes
- At least 5 years’ experience in a notable steel fabrication or erection company
- At least 5 years’ inspection experience in a major steel fabrication or erection company
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector
- High school diploma or GED required (degree preferred)
Salary Range - $90,000 - $110,000
