Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Development/implementation of Quality System, constantly monitoring to ensure compliance and conformance
- Manages all Quality department personnel including work assignments, performance reviews, discipline, coaching, training
- Serves as Management Representative
- Leads Management review of the Quality System
- Ensures procedures and work instructions are reviewed and updated as required
- Participates in corrective and preventive action process
- Assists in development/implementation of new employees as required
- Provides customer support in the area of quality and acts as "voice of the customer"
- Acts as internal facilitator in issues as they relate to product quality
- Provides technical expertise in areas concerning quality tools and techniques
- Evaluates and assists in the selection and development of suppliers
- Assists in maintaining adequate staffing levels
- Prepares and presents programs, training, documentation, etc. as required
- Monitors customer score cards, reports to Plant Manager and coordinates with customers to achieve best possible results
- Monitors and reports NCR's (number of open, average days to close, pareto analysis)
- Escalation of NCR's when not closed in a timely manner.
- Ensure detailed instruction is provided to production personnel in proper sort, rework and NCR product.
- Follow all quality and environmental, health & safety policies, procedures
- Any additional duties as assigned by supervision
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 5 years experience as Quality Manager in an automotive plastics environment. Previous experience in quality control measures (IATF 16949 and VDA, lead auditor, inspection methods, Q.O.S. training (or appropriate equivalents); Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Occasional travel on short notice. Must be able to lead/engage teams, keep all players involved, work closely with customers, both internal and external, strive for continuous improvement, and able to use various problem solving methods.
