OUR COMPANY
Qualified Production and Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services, serving the semi-conductor, life science and other industries. We have 3 facility locations, all located in Oregon. Our Hillsboro location provides contract manufacturing services for machining and assembly with cleanroom capabilities. Our Tualatin location focuses on prototyping, allowing us to take a product from the prototype through production. Our Cornelius facility provides precision sheet metal manufacturing, rounding out our ability to provide best in class integration services to our customer base.
POSITION SNAPSHOT
Under general supervision, you will assist in the execution of the Quality Management System with regards to product inspection, first article submissions, corrective and preventive actions, internal audits and customer and supplier communication and data submittals. You'll also provide input and coaching to continually improve the understanding and adherence to quality assurance disciplines across the company.
This position is part of our Inspection team that provides company-wide service and support. Generally, our Quality Inspectors are assigned to a specific location, but may over time be assigned to other locations as needed. Our new addition will first be assigned to our Cornelius location.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Perform dimensional, visual and functional inspection of parts, components, assemblies, and raw materials, documenting and communicating inspection results.
- Perform efficient manual measurements on granite rock. Problem solve as needed.
- Prepare First Article & In Process Inspection reports by utilizing precision handheld measurement equipment and/or gauges.
- Review acceptance criteria defined by customer documents to ensure appropriate inspection methods and to identify and document any drawing or specification errors.
- Provide feedback to Quality Manager to define and deliver responses to customer requests and inquiries related to product quality.
- Assist Quality Manager in defining and executing internal audits to ensure compliance as well as developing and publishing procedures and work instructions relating to internal processes and practices.
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
- Day shift 9 hours Monday - Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. Occasional overtime as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent experience. Additional technical education or certification is a plus, but not required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in manufactured parts.
- Strong knowledge of quality control processes, procedures and best practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency using measuring instruments and tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Proficiency in taking manual measurements on granite rock.
- Strong working knowledge of statistics, geometry, fractions, percentages and ratios.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) guidelines and best practices.
- Skills identifying, measuring and managing product Key Characteristics.
- ERP database experience.
- MS Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency.
- Excellent attention to detail in accuracy of documentation.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions independently.
- Must be methodical, thorough and have strong attention to detail in completing assignments and in communicating to internal and external customers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of positions within the company. Tactfulness, professionalism, a team orientation and diplomacy with a problem solving approach are essential.
- Ability to lift up to 5 lbs frequently.
