We have an immediate opening for an experienced Inspection Lead to support a CNC manufacturing shop. This position represents the Quality Assurance/Quality Control System for an established Aerospace manufacturing facility in Southern Oregon. This includes all traditional quality verification activities including production, receiving, and in-process inspection; test, audit, and repair activities; supplier quality and quality system compliance. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the facility quality control program which ensures continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through quality team members.
- Maintain current revision of customer quality requirements.
- Promote and ensure awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
- Lead and monitor CAR (Corrective Action Request) and Root Cause Corrective Action activities for external and internal customers, related to nonconforming products.
- Collect and report performance metrics as needed for management and production leads.
- Report on defects and scrap data, including corrective action status.
- Represent Quality function in Material Review Board meetings and daily status meetings.
- Communicate with external customers as required.
- Investigate and respond to customer complaints regarding quality.
- Perform First Article Inspections, Final Inspections, Receiving, and In-Process inspections.
- Prepare First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Oversee inspections of raw materials, materials in-process, and finished products.
- Responsible for maintenance and calibration of measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- Responsible for the correct application of AS9100 Quality standards, ITAR and DFAR requirements.
- Hours are Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (4/10's) and opportunity for overtime.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance working in a responsible capacity.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience in ISO9001/AS9100 and NADCAP systems in aerospace and/or defense industry.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and techniques.
- Working knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and tools.
- Able to read and understand manufacturing routers, instructions, and blueprint drawings.
- Experience with training and building strong work teams.
- Experience delegating and holding subordinates accountable for actions and decision-making.
- Requires good vision, color, and depth perception. Must be able to focus close and at distance.
- CMM programming experience.
- AS9100/ISO experience.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
