QUALITY INSPECTOR
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspection of all piece parts coming into the building and as required assessing for conformance with all relevant engineering specifications prior to releasing to the floor. This position is critical to timely processing of materials for both engineering and production purposes.
Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- inspection of all purchased items and services to ensure that only conforming items are released
- Monitoring and assessing the quality of parts, components and assemblies through the manufacturing process, to insure conformance to contractual and specification requirements.
- Performing First Article Inspections based on AS9102 requirements to ensure that the tooling, equipment, documentation, processes, etc. used in the manufacture of products are capable of producing parts that conform to specification
- Final Inspection of items subsequent to the completion of all manufacturing operations
- perform internal audits to ensure that procedures, processes and protocols are being followed and are effective in their purpose as prescribed by the Quality Management System.
- Initiates and assists with the disposition of nonconforming goods.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree in a quality-related field preferred
- 5 years of proven experience in Manufacturing and/or Engineering environments
- Proficiency with quality and measurement processes, including use of CMM, comparator, micrometer, thread gauges, calipers, etc.
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes. Lathe, Mill, Hone, Grind, EDM, Heat Treat, Plating is helpful.
