Position Details:
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to be a part of the Grainger Insights team working on a variety of types of quality assurance challenges including front end test automation, API testing, and data quality assurance. You have experience with manual testing and driving automation of any task possible. You can be based in either downtown Chicago or Lake Forest, Illinois. You will report directly to the Manager, Product engineering.
You Will:
Devise a plan for manually testing our front-end applications with an eye for ratcheting up automated test coverage. We use Cypress for this.
Collaborate with back-end developers to maintain the test coverage of our API endpoints.
Collaborate, design, and implement methods to ensure data quality and depictions of data are correct and uniform
Maintain CI pipelines using GitHub Actions
Help identify data needs that are required to support testing objectives.
Collaborate with the team on Performance Testing, Security Testing, & Resiliency
Maintain Test Automation suites.
Compile bug reports & QA metrics.
Provide mentoring of junior QEs as applicable.
Deliver to production several times a day.
You Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
3 year of industry experience with Quality Assurance involving writing Java or Node.js code for test concerns
Strong working knowledge of testing techniques and QE practices
Basic understanding of Stubs, Mocking, Service Virtualization Low Sensitivity
Basic understanding of White-Box/Component Level Testing
Working knowledge of Test Data & Environment Management (TEM)
Experience with curl, postman, E-commerce experience.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm
