Quality Engineer Ii

JOB SUMMARY
Support production operations by developing good manufacturing quality systems in an Automotive Tier 1 environment. Lead improvement activities, IATF compliance, and customer issue investigations.
REPORTING TO
Quality Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Implement and maintain IATF and AS9100 Quality System. Develop procedures and perform internal audits.
2. Manage and maintain the company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes, and finished goods.
3. Lead resolution of Plant and Supplier quality issues. Facilitate 8-D problem solving and reporting process.
4. Professionally represent the company while working with customers and suppliers.
5. Responsible for PPAP per customer requirements.
6. Ensure that plant quality procedures are maintained.
7. Maintain gage calibration procedures.
8. Maintain receiving inspection procedures.
9. Set up and maintain control and documentation procedures.
10. Liaise with auditors, customers’ auditors and ensure the execution of corrective actions and compliance with customers’ specifications.
11. Analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters.
12. Support Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement activities.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

1. Thorough understanding of IATF and AS9100 certification
2. Experience with PPAP, 8D
3. Able to work with shop floor employees, suppliers, customers, and senior management
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
5. Willingness to own decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
6. Knowledge in Microsoft office

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

1. Engineering degree
2. 5 years’ experience as Quality Engineer for automotive supplier.
