Role Summary
Coordinates quality planning including control plans, FMEA's, audit/inspection details, sample submissions and training plans for inspection. Apply measures, sampling methods, testing methodology and other procedures that ensure quality standards are met. Monitors, reports and improves customer satisfaction performance. Implements and maintains plant wide quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the APQP process for all new parts/models
- Provide Reports for Continuous improvement opportunities (Scrap, PRR’s, PPM, Capability, etc.)
- Perform supplier quality audits
- Lead, Support resolution to quality problems both internal & external using problem solving methods
- Report the status of internal & external PPAP submissions
- Track the resolution of non-conforming material & disposition of same
- Perform gage R&R’s and train others to do the same
- Coordinate machine capability studies
- Maintain control plans & FMEA’s
- Participate in change management for the plant
- Develop & conduct training programs for shop floor operators on quality duties
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- BS Technical Degree or Equivalent in directly related experience
- 3-5 years working in a manufacturing environment in a Quality Engineer capacity.
- Complete knowledge of automotive APQP/PPAP processes
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Have a command of problem solving techniques such as 8-D, 5 why, Fishbone, etc
- Significant knowledge of IATF-16949
- Experience creating and leading FMEA & Control Plans
- Able to supervise & lead subordinates
- Statistical abilities, & understanding of gage R&R’s, capability studies
- Conduct self as a professional Quality Engineer
