Quality Engineer

Summary: Seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer with automotive experience and knowledge of quality standards for a 12-month contract.

Job Requirements:

• BS Degree

• Minimum of 3 years experience as an automotive Quality Engineer

• Proficiency in QMS, IATF or ISO auditing with materials including steel, stamping, forging, machining, casting etc.

• Experience with APQP, PFMEA, MSA, Control Plan, Process Capability and PPAP

• Knowledge of Error proofing process

• Ability to pass a drug and background check

Job Responsibilities:

• Support cross-functional launch teams through design/risk evaluations and technical supplier review meetings

• Lead the quality aspect for the APQP/NPI process from kick-off through successful launch containment for assigned suppliers/project

• Facilitate problem resolution in High Impact & Severity Quality incidents using Effective Problem-Solving process

• Implement global purchasing supplier development strategies and establish policies/procedures to improve global supply base

• Participate in sourcing decision-making reviews with Sourcing Teams

• Drive targets for supplier key metric performance throughout the organization

• Conduct supplier audits when required to drive quality and productivity improvements at existing suppliers

• Support major internal and new customer projects initiated globally

• Prepare and present supplier performance data to management level

• Domestic and foreign travel up to 50% of working time may be required

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of automotive and environmental standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
• Relevant experience in Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies
• Knowledge of AIAG processes

 

 

 

 

Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
