Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division is looking for a Quality Engineer for our Corinth, Mississippi facility.   As a Quality Engineer (CMM Programmer), you will be responsible for providing CMM programming and GD&T expertise to support the quality management system within the assigned machining facility. Conducts investigations, analyzes information, and facilitates solution design in dealing with production and product quality problems.

What You Will Do:

  • Conducting measurement systems analysis; gathering, analyzing, and communicating non-conformance data.
  • Analyzing non-conformance data and maintaining quality system documentation.
  • Participating in and offering technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Interacting with manufacturing team members to determine root cause of quality issues and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Owns PFEA (plan for every asset) & Lifecyle management for inspection equipment.

  • Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.
     

Additional Skills:

  • CMM programming experience using PCDMIS and CMM operations experience.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering prints, application of GD&T methodology, methods of manually gaging parts and Microsoft Office Suite Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience working in a machine shop, quality or engineering environment. Level 1, 2, or 3
  • PCDMIS certifications and DMAIC problem solving experience preferred.
