Opportunity

As a Project Engineer, Supplier Quality in Kohler Home Energy, you will have the opportunity to impact Kohler's ability to meet customer requirements by driving quality throughout Kohler's supply chain.  You will be responsible for managing processes and the quality requirements for a diverse supply base and executing improvement activities with these suppliers.  In addition, you will have the ability to implement internal controls to ensure effective use of the supplied product within Kohler's operation to promote product quality.

Specific Responsibilities

• Review and approve supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions for current product changes.
• Complete on-site assessments and supplier qualification activities in conjunction with the Procurement organization.
• Define quality expectations for Kohler's supply base and develop a supplier action plan to achieve improvement targets.
• Lead problem-solving teams both internally and externally to minimize the production impact of quality defects.
• Manage supply base of over 200 suppliers ranging from electronics manufacturing to sheet metal fabrication.
• Utilize structured problem-solving techniques and drive continuous process improvement to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Review cost reduction opportunities for supplied products and identify qualification requirements for implementation of these initiatives.
• Generate ISO and process procedures to ensure a quality system has been effectively documented both internally and externally.
• Drive process integrity for supplier change management for Kohler products.
• Complete analysis of quality defects found at customer sites and drive improvement activities to mitigate the risk of future failures.
• Prepare report summaries for management review.
• Perform all duties as assigned by supervision.
• Ensures adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code.

Skills/Requirements

• This position requires a B.S. or M.S. degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited school.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in an engineering role.
• Prior experience in the Quality function preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office required.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Proficient in the use of data analysis tools and software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

The salary range for this position is $81,050 - $102,400. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
