Key Responsibilities
- Effectively analyze and root cause product quality problems; develop and implement corrective action plans and improvements to products and processes.
- Supervise team of engineering technicians within a production-paced environment.
- Develop and implement process control plans utilizing SPC and Design of Experiments methods.
- Interface with technical staff of customers and/or suppliers as required to address quality problems and/or customer complaints.
- Prepare, review and implement material/manufacturing process deviations as required to support continual production.
- Participate in product design reviews and identify problems and solutions related to measurability, performance, reliability and feasibility.
- Perform internal audits of operations, products and process control plans in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Participates on manufacturing teams as a technical resource.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

- Writes routine reports and correspondence.
- Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with vendors, internal and external customers, the general public and other employees of the organization.
- Works with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
- Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram formats.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
- Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
- Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
- Uses noncomplex machines and equipment (adding machines, calculators, copy/fax machines, etc.).
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
- Visually distinguishes wording and symbols from such work tools as blueprints, work instructions, books and manuals; distinguishes colors.
- Reads and interprets information presented on controls and computer screens.
- Inputs appropriate information into computer-controlled machinery and computers.
- Deals effectively with persons at all levels in a manufacturing operation.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of five years of relevant education or experience in quality control, design, or a related area (required).
- Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical metrology e.g.,gauges and handheld instruments.
- Significant experience with or education providing in-depth knowledge of statistics and/or statistical process control (preferred).
Intermediate: Spreadsheet, database, Microsoft Office suite, minitab, datamyte, and statistical software such as Quality Analyst.
Basic: Alphanumeric data entry, word processing/typing.
