This is a fast paced “job shop” environment, where a hands-on approach is a must. We specialize in metal forging of rings, discs, pot die forgings, cards, and blocks.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's quality management system. The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Management System:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
- Analyze data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate production processes to identify and address potential quality issues.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality.
- Training and Development:
- Provide training to employees on quality management principles and practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and accountability among all staff members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years managing quality systems; specifically ISO9000
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, quality management).
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment.
- 3-5 year background in metallurgy preferred
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
