Quality Engineer

Heraeus Electro Nite in Peru, IN is in search of a motivated, career-oriented individual who is passionate about performing hands-on quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products in a manufacturing environment, is adept at working with people, and is skilled at developing new approaches to solving problems.  Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering discipline, relevant quality control experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, is PE, CQE, or Six Sigma certified, and has ISO certification and operations experience.

Incumbent will work out of our Peru, IN facility on a daily basis and travel monthly to our facility in Hartland, WI.

Minimum Education, Skills and Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering or related field (or a combination of education and related experience).
• Previous experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment a must.
• Project management experience required.
• Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma Practices, and ISO-9001 and 17025 experience.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification highly desired, Black Belt a plus.
• Proficient in Minitab and MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) skills.
• Problem solving and logical thinking skills a must.
• Willingness to travel up to 25 percent of the time. Monthly domestic travel with annual international travel.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Relocation assistance is NOT available, local candidates preferred.

The Primary Purpose of our Quality Engineer is to:

• Work within the Quality Team to plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products.
• Plan and conduct analysis, inspection, testing, and integration to assure quality products/components.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate current process and process changes.
• Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities consistent with company policies and procedures.
• Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
• Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements.
• Prepare and present technical reports and program information on results of quality assurance activities.
• Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
