- Implement, enhance, & maintain quality systems across departments (not limited to production)
- Pragmatically translate & implement Quality objectives and plans into actions by functional areas
- Review, create, modify and update quality metrics and periodically report out to NIS Management
- Lead, manage, and supervise the Quality/Test team
- Manage and maintain pertinent quality records in accordance with business needs
- Manage & Support legal and regulatory compliance programs: UL, ATEX, IECEX, RoHS, REACH, etc.
- Monitor, assess, and ensure Suppliers’ quality; manage charge-back to vendors for returns
- Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and processing equipment and testing, measurement and analytical facilities
- Lead in compliance review, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support and improve environmental, health and safety practices.
- Perform data entry to track EHS training and development or other pertinent data for employees with the Human Resources support
- Maintain training records for employees and assist with New Hire Orientation and Safety Training with Human Resources Support.
- Prepare documents and materials for training and safety committee meetings as required
- Organize the training to include: review the list of participants, distribution of materials and training, monitor trainee in training, support trainer in training.
- Lead environmental, health and safety incident investigations, including identification of root cause(s) and actions necessary to prevent recurrence in the future.
- Walk in the facility on a regular basis to establish presence, communication and provide support.
- Manage Audit, combine, and maintain the Q & EHS training records including to:
- Compile spreadsheet of all employee training to upload into HR database
- Record results of evaluation and training
- Promote and monitoring the improvement actions as per Audit requirement or company standards
- Prepare and update the KPI and share periodically the progress with the management team
- Administering and maintaining compliance programs including Emergency Response, LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, Blood Borne Pathogens, etc.
- 10 years’ experience in manufacturing with growing responsibility in a Quality and EHS department/role
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Product Functional Testing
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action tools and processes
- Previous experience with ISO9001 certification & processes – 1 year required
- Experience with electrical safety standards in high voltage testing applications preferred
- Process Mapping/Value-Stream-Mapping (VSM) experience will be given preference
- Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar will be given preference
- Experience with EHS Audit, process and regulations
- Experience to conduct training in the context of Environment, Health & Safety
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related)
- Six-Sigma Black-Belt certification preferred / Green-Belt required
- Action oriented – biased towards small immediate steps (Kaizen)
