The DEA Compliance Specialist III is responsible for the review and process of all documentation related to DEA Regulated Substances to ensure compliance with Company Programs and all Federal and State regulations and requirements applicable to controlled substances/listed chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Support site and DEA Corporate Management to ensure DEA site compliance. Mentors and supervises current DEA Specialist I role. Reviews and approves DEA Form 222
- Maintains DEA quota consumptions and requests for new and supplemental quotas. Approves batch records as required and deviations related to controlled substances. Conducts internal audits as needed of all DEA registrations
- Implements DEA corrective actions and improvements identified by DEA Corporate Management. Submits DEA import and export declarations and permits via DEA IMEX. Prepares DEA Year-End reports for approval
- Approves and submits ARCOS quarterly reports. Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business
Requirements
Required
- Associate Degree or equivalent from two (2) year college and at least two (2) years related experience and/or training. Extensive experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Working knowledge of MRP principles and Supply Chain
- Prior experience with understanding and executing strict government regulations, specifically with the DEA and FDA, is desired
- A high degree of initiative with demonstrated ability to work independently and meet timelines
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with other departments
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Database software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
