SalaryDirt Hugger is a local composting company that will divert over 60K tons of material from the landfill this year. We turn all that material into nutrient-rich compost and other high quality soil products.
We are looking for people to help remove contamination from our material before it starts the composting process. The Quality Control (QC) team staffs our picking station to effectively remove contamination (glass, rock, plastic, etc.) as it comes across the belt in front of you. Interacting with each load coming onto the site, this position is critical to be able to produce a clean, high quality, finished product. We are looking for motivated individuals who don’t mind getting dirty and will take pride in the impact they have on our business and the environment. The position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, 7 to 5:30. Bilingual a plus!
The pay is $16.28/hr to start. After a 60 day probationary period, you can be brought on full time, which includes numerous perks: Pay rate increases to $17/hr., 10 days PTO, 8 paid holidays, health care/dental/vision, product allowances, matching retirement plan, plus fun company events, like rafting and happy hours.
There often is potential to move up to different positions within the company, including groundskeeping and equipment operation. While not always guaranteed, there is potential for the right people.
