Job Description
Overview:
The QC Technician will work with the QA and Food Safety Department to ensure quality standards and procedures are met with internal and external guidelines and customer specifications. They will inspect incoming and outbound shipments of meat on the basis of food safety requirements, customer, regulatory, industry, and internal standards.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of incoming and outbound products
- Use temperature logger software to record shipment results
- Verify expiration dates, placement of labels, product codes, weights, and labels to ensure USDA approved
- Take microbiological samples and send to 3rd party lab for testing, and record microbial results
- Conduct yield tests and sends reports sales team
Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in food manufacturing industry, meat industry preferred
- Previous equivalent work experience
- Food Safety Inspection Certification, or willingness to compete within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of butchery or cuts of meat is preferred
- Knowledge of QA principles, USDA, GMP, HACCP, and SQF
- Able to collect, maintain, evaluate data, and summarize and write reports
- Proficient in computer software, manufacturing software, and Microsoft Office
